Screening of Schindler's List

March 23, 2017

Visuals have a lasting impact. Considering this fact, the B.A III students of DSCW were shown a movie in the college Auditorium by PG Department Of English. The movie was Schindler's List. The film relates a period in the life of Oscar Schindler, an ethnic businessman. He had saved the lives of more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish refugees from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories. It is a black and white movie. The director has adopted this style to show that Holocaust was life without light. He believed that symbol of life is color. That's why he showed holocaust in black and white. The movie explores the theme of good versus evil. Its main protagonist is shown as a "Good German". The movie is also based on the theme of redemption. The film is really an outstanding achievement. No wonder our students and professors of various departments appreciated the screening of this movie.
